8 TIPS AND TRICKS TO VIEW PRIVATE INSTAGRAM ACCOUNTS INSTANTLY

Image
Send a Follow request First of all, let’s go with the oldest trick in the book: to follow the person. When you send a Follow request to a private account, you have to wait for the owner to accept the request before you can view their profile. If you’re in luck, and the person happens to be online around the time you send the request, then they may accept, and you will be able to view their profile right away. If not, you may have to wait until they come online. Personally, I don’t like this trick but let’s pretend to be good boys for a sec and play by Instagram’s rules. At least, this is how they would want us to view the profile of a private account. Call on Google for help Perhaps you’ve waited a few seconds, and the other person has yet to accept your request. No problem. Head to your Chrome or Safari and enter the person’s username into the search bar. Usually, when an account owner makes their profile private, Google has a library of their old posts. That is, posts they made when ...

Top 6 helpful Google Calendar tips and tricks

Image

What's the biggest freshwater fish in the world?

Image
A beluga sturgeon swimming in a river.  It took three biologists to haul a 240-pound (109 kilograms) fish out of the Detroit River in Michigan last month. The nearly 7-foot-long (2.1 meters) "monster' sturgeon," caught and released by the Alpena Fish and Wildlife Conservation Office, could be more than 100 years old. It's a mightily impressive catch for sure, but is it the biggest freshwater fish in the world?  The Detroit River fish is a lake sturgeon ( Acipenser fulvescens ), and while it is believed to be one of the largest ever caught in the U.S., there are much bigger fish swimming in rivers around the world. According to the  U.S. Geological Survey , the planet's largest freshwater fish is the beluga sturgeon ( Huso huso ), living between Europe and Asia in the Black, Azov and Caspian seas, and the rivers feeding them. Beluga sturgeon can reach a maximum length of more than 26 feet (8 m), or about four times as long as a king-size mattress, and weigh u...

Top 7 Foods To Eat And 7 To Avoid If You Have Diabetes

Image
Shutterstock Diabetes is a major public health concern in the United States. According to the  American Diabetes Association , 34.2 million Americans (more than 10% of the population) have diabetes. Of these, 1.6 million have type 1 diabetes, while the majority have type 2 diabetes. Poorly managed diabetes can lead to a number of serious complications, and the condition is the seventh leading cause of death in the United States. But what exactly  is  diabetes? As the  Centers for Disease Control and Prevention  explained, "If you have diabetes, your body either doesn't make enough insulin or can't use the insulin it makes as well as it should." Most of the food we eat is eventually broken down into the simple sugar, glucose. Insulin is a hormone produced by the pancreas that allows glucose to enter cells, where it can be used as fuel. If the pancreas doesn't produce insulin (type 1 diabetes) or cells become resistant to the effects of insulin (type 2...

What is Beautiful Desolation (Switch)?

Image
Review: Beautiful Desolation may look like an isometric RPG in the vein of Wasteland. Throw such impressions away, because this is purely an adventure game, where you run around, get items, combine them, and talk to people to move the story forward. Beautiful Desolation is an original, sci-fi story that recalls something more like a stripped-down Fallout by way of District 9. Set in South Africa, you play as Mike Leslie, a reporter initially keen on investigating a strange object that has appeared out of the sky and managed to shoot technology ahead by hundreds of years, known as The Penrose. It’s not long before Mike, his chopper pilot brother and a drone security dog are teleported far into the future, to a time when immortal, augmented beings eke out their existence in a dilapidated world. Your mission is simple: to get back to your time, preferably in one piece and with your own consciousness surviving. As you explore the many (yes, beautifully desolate) locations, ...

Is there any evidence for New Type of Memory?

Image
Source:  Damian Pang / University of Pennsylvania Visual masking renders briefly presented images invisible. New research published in  Scientific Reports  shows that repeating strongly masked stimuli can elicit conscious perception. Visual masking was long held to erase or overwrite memory traces of an image that is briefly presented. This new study indicates that memory traces are likely retained for brief periods of time but with limited conscious access. Visual data can accumulate in the absence of conscious awareness in this memory buffer store and elicit clear perception when sufficient evidence is available. The global workspace theory of consciousness suggests that perception is the result of bottom-up and top-down processes: Top-down directed attention and bottom-up stimulus strength both play an important part in what ultimately enters awareness. This process requires information to be stored subliminally and has led to predictions for the existence o...
