Telegram's screen sharing feature in group video calls

Image
Telegram remains a solid alternative to  Whatsapp . More recently, it gained video calling smarts   to help bolster its popularity during the pandemic. Now, it’s gunning for video conferencing tools with a new group video calling and screen sharing feature. Users can now convert group voice calls into group video calls by tapping the camera icon on the call screen. Voice calls can still host “unlimited” participants, but only 30 users in a group can participate with video. Telegram notes this limit will “increase soon.” Group admins can also pin a user’s video feed, effectively making it the first screen new users see when joining the video chat. This is available on mobile and desktop, too, and should be useful for teachers hosting online classes. Users can also tap on any one of the users’ video screens to make it fullscreen on their device. Syncing with these improvements is the ability to share screens. Users can tap the three-dot menu button and select...

'Dom' Amazon Prime Video Review: Stream It Or Skip It?

Image
A gritty narrative based on a true story. One of the most exciting shows currently on the Amazon Prime Video roster is a little-known Brazilian gem,  Dom . Based on a true story,  Dom  tells the story of a cop who has to bring a stop to one of Rio de Janeiro’s most dreaded drug traffickers, who also happens to be his son. Even though both father and son grew up in Rio, the story shows how the city affects people who choose different paths despite being in a similar environment. The show spans across two timelines - one showing the father, Victor Dantas, in his teenage years, and the other showing the rise of his son, Pedro, his struggle with cocaine as a kid, and his rise within the gang scene in Rio during his late teens and early twenties. Although the show has enough action and thrill to hook you right in from the get go, it also touches upon a deeper layer - that of a complicated and yet, endearing father-son relationship, which gives a wide universal appeal. T...

Is This "Valak" Thing Real?

Image
The hype for   The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It   is building, and horror fans are using these last few days before  The Conjuring 3   comes to theaters and HBO Max to catch up on the   other seven films   in the  Conjuring   movie-verse. That includes  The Nun , the 2018 spin-off film that serves as a prequel to  The Conjuring 2.  You may recall that in  The Conjuring 2,  actor Bonnie Aarons plays the film’s antagonist: A demon nun channeling the spirit of the evil Valak.  The Nun  serves as an origin story of sorts—a non-demon nun named Sister Irene (Taissa Farmiga) and a priest named Father Burke (Demián Bichir) travel to investigate a monastery in 1952 Romania. Apparently, some pretty creepy stuff has been happening at this monastery—like nuns being attacked by invisible, evil spirits. Sister Irene and Father Burke eventually learn that the abbey was built on a rift intended to seal out the evil demon V...

Top 5 nutritional myths debunked

Image
Nutrition Myth 1- Egg yolks are high in cholesterol and bad for your body In reality, cholesterol is the basic component in your cell structure and is crucial for your hormones like estrogen, progesterone and cortisone. Bad cholesterol is LDL that is present in processed foods and good cholesterol is HDL that you find in egg yolk. Without thinking twice, make sure you have two whole eggs with yolks every day. Nutrition Myth 2- Eating smaller meals is equal to higher metabolism and faster weight loss In reality, the number of calories you consume and the thermic effect of food count more. So, whether you eat two meals in a day or eat five to six meals in a day, it doesn’t really affect your weight loss. But what matters is the number of calories you are having and the number of times you are going to spike your insulin. So, it’s always better to eat two meals in a day and practice intermittent fasting. Nutrition Myth 3- Saturated fats are bad for health Did you know that saturated fats ...
